This is a guest article from Mandy Scherer, a long time reader of Love Spells Magazine, and an avid practitioner of spellcraft. Mandy successfully used a love spell to reunite herself with her long term boyfriend after they drifted apart. That began her interest in magic and spell work.

For those who are earnest in their dedication to their esoteric beliefs, finding an authentic spell book plays a large part in the practice of those beliefs. The question then becomes exactly how do you find an authentic spell book?

Seeking information from others is a good place to start when it comes to finding a book of spells. Checking with those of similar beliefs can be a big step in the right direction, because these are people who have faced the same problem of finding the tools necessary to practice spellcraft. This means that they also know where the authentic tools can be found, as well as knowing the places to avoid when it comes to novelty items as opposed to the real thing.

Although consulting with those of the same belief is a good source when it comes to finding authentic tools, it is only the beginning of the journey to find a genuine spell book. A large part of finding the right book is to choose one that coincides with the particular aspects of the beliefs held by the individual. Just because another person holds similar beliefs does not mean that what works for them will for another person.

While networking with other individuals of similar beliefs can also provide a wealth of useful information, finding a book of magic is ultimately in the hands of the believer. Even so, networking can reveal where to begin the search.

One of the best places to begin the actual search for a spell book is in an area that caters to esoteric needs. It is important though, to be wary of suppliers who are only looking to cash in on what they consider a ‘fad’. The items that these suppliers offer, especially spell books, are items that have been produced for a profit as opposed to providing useful information.

How can you spot these less-than-honest vendors? Don’t be afraid to ask them questions. If they themselves share your own esoteric beliefs then they will have no problem answering your questions and helping you find the right information.

Finding suppliers who offer esoteric items may take a little detective work. Use the internet as well as your local listings to search suppliers. Be prepared to search visit and question suppliers until you find one that you’re comfortable with. As you thumb through the selections available, let your instincts guide you to the one that you feel the most drawn to.
